Single Speed Mountain Bikes

The real pleasure of cycling comes when you peddle hard and even harder when you come to a hill. The actual sense of achievement in every single ascent and covering every long stretch is what real biking is all about. This can only be felt on a real single speed mountain bike.

If you look around in your surroundings you are likely to see bikes with gears and other gadgetry to improve your speed and reducing your exertion while you peddle.

These bikes give the rider the ease of selecting the gear ratio depending up on the load he is carrying and how efficiently he wishes to paddle with minimum of effort and maximum of output. These are ideal for long journeys and when speed is required.

When a person wishes to derive the true biking pleasure, when he exerts himself and fights with the terrain with his own strength this is where the single speed mountain bikes come in. The single speed mountain bike is what a basic bike used to be, when the first two wheeled bike with a saddle was invented.

When I lookaround I feel that these bikes are slowly diminishing with the modern bikes taking over its place. People want efficiency rather than exertion. If a person declines the use of a multi speed bike, they would prefer the fixed gear rather than the single speed with a cassette hub or a flip flop hub instead of the conventional one on their bikes. The reason is simply the convenience in getting added option for switching over for the sake of performance.

Not so long ago bikes used to be for paddling and making you sweat and that was the real treat in the entire game, the traditional single speed bike can only survive if you decide to give it a chance to stay in the long list of innovative bikes of it will actually diminish. So buy a real single speed model so that the original doesn’t get out casted.
